Born on Veterans Day, we named Josie's and Rumor's 2nd litter of 4 females & 2 males our BayKings American War Heroes (BayKings' 4th litter), with each pup named after a recognized hero of each of 6 American wars, from the War of Independence (Sybil Ludington -- a teen who took the place of her ill father and made a ride similar, but longer, to Paul Revere's), to the Civil War (Harriet Tubman, heroine of the Underground Railroad, who escorted slaves through the battle lines to safety in the North), to World War I (Sgt. York, or Sarge), and World War II (Audey Murphy, or Murphy), and finally, to a nurse in each of the Korean & Viet Nam wars (Eleanor Porter, or Ellie, & Elizabeth Allen, or Liza).
